What Is Public Housing?
The public housing program is funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development and provides 281 rental units at locations in Jefferson County.The Housing Authority is the owner/manager of these units serving as the landlord. The HA screens and selects tenants, signs and enforces leases and maintains the units
The Jeffserson County Housing Authority owns rental units in Reynoldsville, Punxsutawney and Sykesville. Our apartments are affordable, rent is adjusted according to household income. Most of the units have the utilities included with the rent.
The Housing Authority manages Toby Terrace. The property is funded through the Rural Housing Service Agency of USDA Rural Development for Elderly and Disabled.
